Giving Tuesday - You can make a difference for Theatre Orangeville

Date Posted: 05/05/2020

We hope you and your family are staying healthy and finding much joy while the physical distancing measures are in place. We at Theatre Orangeville are all doing well, and our team is looking ahead to brighter days.

We are living in unprecedented times where everyone has been affected in every aspect of their daily lives. We appreciate that this is a challenging time for all, and that we will only overcome these challenges by working together as a community and helping one another at every turn.

Theatre companies, actors, set designers, directors and stage crews all over the world have all been tremendously impacted and are trying to work through these anxious times, with no clear vision of what the future will hold.

Theatre companies like yours will likely be among the last of business to return to the “new normal”, given we will need to wait for a time in which gathering in larger groups is safe to do so for our community.

What we do know, is that no matter what, Theatre Orangeville will always be there to play a significant role in ensuring the well-being of our community by nurturing, enriching and the supporting of others. As distancing restrictions are lifted, and the clouds begin to pass, people will turn once again to Theatre Orangeville to come together and celebrate who we are as people.

Although we have been greatly impacted by the closures, we remain optimistic and resolute in our commitment to continue bringing transformative life experiences through the performing arts that we practice to as many people as we can.

Every year we celebrate the abilities of adults and youth with neuro and developmental disabilities through the unique theatrical adventures of our Creative Partners on Stage (C.P.O.S.) and Theatre Orangeville Exceptional Players (T.O.E.P.) programs.

But we need your help …

These programs rely on revenues derived and supported from our Mainstage productions and the closures and postponement of our productions have greatly diminished our ability to maintain the development and continuance of future programs.

These programs have an immeasurable impact on participants, helping them to develop communication and social skills and providing them with a sense of belonging and acceptance within our vibrant and supportive community.

1. Consider making a donation or becoming a Theatre Orangeville Member. Any amount or level will be greatly appreciated. You will receive a tax receipt for donations $20 or more

2. If you have tickets booked for a performance that has been cancelled or postponed, rather than refund or transfer them to another performance, consider converting the ticket value to a tax receiptable donation. Leave a message at our Box Office at 519-942-3423 or 1-800-424-1295 or email us at

3. Consider becoming a subscriber for our 2020-2021 season. We have both Three-Show and Five-Show Subscriptions available. Please email us at

#GivingTuesdayNow is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the strength of our community, and to do good together even while practicing physical distancing.

If you are in the position to donate to Theatre Orangeville during these challenging times, please know that it means the world to us and you have your sincerest thanks.

Please stay happy, safe and sound … and keep washing those hands!

We look forward to seeing you in your theatre … eventually!
