This heartwarming story of the Sturgess family will transport younger audiences from the frenzy of modern day gift-giving, back to the wonders of Christmas in simpler times. A Gift to Last is a celebration of families and love and truly is a 'GIFT' that will last throughout the year.

Sketching Sunshine
An Evening (and Morning) with Stephen Leacock

In honour of the 100th anniversary of Canadian Legend Stephen Leacock's most enduring work - Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town - thie one man show conjures up an intimate visit with Canada's most preeminent humorist. It is a show filled with laughter, razor-like-wit, and thought-provoking insight.
Curriculum Relebance: Drama - communicate understanding of the elements and works in drama, role play, perspective. Language Arts - Oral communication (listening, comprehension, point of view, presentation strategies, visual aids). English/Canadian Literature - respond to and analyse Canadian literary texts and assess the importance of Canadian literature as a social and cultural force. Character Education.

Austin Ransier, the patriarch of the Ransier family, has farmed his whole life on the north side of a drumlin. He watches as his son and grandson wrestle over the future of the land and wonders, whether it will survive as a working farm ... or be gobbled up by a developer and become a golf course! Austin sees things that others don't and the family assumes that he is lost in the past. But Austin's drams are about possibilities ...

The busTD @ Theatre Orangeville program is a partnership with TD Banks of Orangeville. Your school's travel cost to Theatre Orangeville performances will be reduced because of the commitment of TD to support the youth, and arts in our community. How it works:
Theatre Orangeville will reimburse schools:
$1.00 per student attending from In-Town (Orangeville) schoools
$1.50 per student attending from Out-Of-Town schools
Participating schools will be mailed a cheque for the reimbursement the week after attending a performance at Theatre Orangeville.

After Show Q & A's
Our Secondary School Education on Stage performances automatically include a 10-minute question and answer period after the performance. Audience members are invited to ask the cast and stage menagement team, questions about the performance, production, their backgrounds, etc.
Classes needing to leave the theatre prior to the start of the Q & A period, should inform the Theatre Orangeville Box Office, House Management or our Youth & Education Program Coordinator, Sharyn Woodbury, prior to the commencement of the performance.
