2010 FALL  DRAMA PROGRAMS

TAKE A WALK ON THE IMPROV SIDE

Program Director:  Gary Sarazin

Ages:  7-10

Dates:  Tuesdays, September 21 - November 9

Time:  6:30 - 8:00 pm

In this 8-week program, many fun games and activities will develop good improv and drama skills, of course concluded with the "Big Show Performance" where these skills will be displayed.

Location:  New Theatre Orangeville Rehearsal Hall (Located on Dufferin Road 3 at Highway 9)

Cost:  $160 + HST


THE WHOLE SHEBANG

Program Directors:  Chandra Mulder, Deb Robertson, Rebecca Urion, Steve Urion, Chelsea Johnson, Elizabeth Glenday

Ages:  11-16

Dates:  Mondays, September 20  – November 15 , 2010 (no class Thanksgiving Monday)

Time: 5:00 -7:00 pm

Ever wonder what it takes to be a triple threat?  Want to really deliver in auditions?  Then you don't want to miss this opportunity!  In this 8-week course, participants will work with a number of Theatre Orangeville instructors to learn a variety of audition-based skills, including improvisation,  clowning,  musical theatre, movement, classical monologue work, characterization and scene study.   After 8 classes, participants will have a strong base with which to impress any auditioning panel!

2011 SPRING DRAMA PROGRAMS 


THE SCENIC ROUTE

Program Director:  Chandra Mulder

Ages:  11-16

Dates:  Mondays, March 28 - May 16

Time:  5:00 - 7:00 pm

Calling all young actors and actresses!  The Scenic Route is yours to travel down in a fun, warm atmosphere where you will access the tools you need to stand out from all the rest.  Through exercises, games, monologues and scenes, participants will be working through scripted work, finding and developing characters that are quite different from themselves.  Skill sets will include, how to develop characters, blocking, some directing, working with scene partners and new found energy and direction when tackling the written dialogue of a script.  Final class is an invitational class for family and friends to see what students have been working on and how a class runs.  Scenes may also be performed at the Academy Showcase in June 2011.  No experience required.

THE MANY MOODS OF DRAMA

In this 8-week program, many activities and short plays will help students appreciate and develop the characteristics of "mood", and parents and friends are invited to the "Big Show Performance" on the final day of classes.
