STONE SOUP

Ages 11-16

Welcome to Old Town where the villagers have come upon hard times and have forgotten the value of working together. A musical adaptation of the classic children's story, STONE SOUP is a lively look at what happens when people give to each other. The theme is explored through six original songs sung by the villagers as they contend with idea of making soup from a stone. This mini-musical is open to all from the ages 11-16 who would like to develop their singing, dancing and acting skills.

A MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA

Ages 7-10

In musical theatre, songs help to tell the story. Characters in a play seem to spontaneously break into song and everyone in the scene suddenly knows all the dance steps. Ever wonder what acting would be like if you had lines, songs and dance steps all at the same time?

This program is open to all from the ages 7-10 who would like to develop their singing, dancing and acting skills. This beginner level instruction will focus on how to perform a piece of music theatrically. Participants will explore storytelling techniques including how to communicate through words, music and movement. They will share their work with family members in week 6 when they put on a short performance of select pieces.
