Theatre Youth Programs
Theatre Orangeville has a strong commitment to the youth of our community. Our youth programs continue the Theatre Orangeville tradition of providing quality professional theatre as well as creative and exciting learning opportunities for local young people who have a desire to experience all the wonders that the performing arts can offer.
SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAMS
ONE WEEK PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH WHO ARE "NEW TO THEATRE!"
ONE-ACT PLAYS AND MUSIC EVERY DAY! FOR AGES 10-14
AUGUST 23-27
9 am to 1 pm
Program Director: Gary Sarazin
Participants will be divided into smaller groups to work on one-act plays. Warm up games and music interpretation will happen daily. Pop songs will be used to develop the story that lies within. This "New To Theatre" program will develop essential drama and presentation skills in young "budding" actors!
There will be a "Big Show Performance" on Friday, August 27th at 12:00 pm! Parents, Caregivers and Friends are invited to attend.

2010 FALL YOUTH PROGRAMS
TAKE A WALK ON THE IMPROV SIDE
FOR AGES 7-11
SEPT. 21 - NOV. 9 (TUESDAYS)
6:30 PM - 8 PM
Program Director: Gary Sarazin
In this 8-week program, fun games and activities will develop good improv and drama skills, concluding with a "Big Show" where these skills will be displayed.

THE WHOLE SHEBANG
FOR AGES 11-16
SEPT. 20 - NOV. 8 (MONDAYS)
5 PM - 7 PM
Program Directors: Chandra Mulder, Deb Robertson, Rebecca Urion, Steve Urion, Chelsea Johnson, Elizabeth Glenday
Ever wonder what it takes to be a triple threat? Want to really deliver in auditions? Then you don't want to miss this opportunity! In this 8-week course, participants will work with a number of Theatre Orangeville instructors to learn a variety of audition-based skills, including improvisation, clowning, musical theatre, movement, classical monologue work, characterization and scene study. After 8 classes, participants will have a strong base with which to impress any auditioning panel!

**There will be no class on Thanksgiving Monday.
Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers
Under the direction of Anne Reid and Pamela Scott
The Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers (T.O.Y.S. choir) is a performing choir for children 8 years of age and older. The program runs from September to May of each year.
Drama for Young People
Theatre Orangeville’s Drama for Young People programs include sessions specializing in both drama and musical theatre and are offered throughout the year.
The Young Company
The Theatre Orangeville Music Young Company and the Theatre Orangeville Drama Young Company each provide unique opportunities for 25 talented young people between the ages of 11 and 16 who are looking for a more in-depth theatrical experience. An audition is required for entry into this summer program with a full-scale production presented at the end to the general public.
