Graphic Design/Marketing Assistant – Summer Position 

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible, youth must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.


Theatre Orangeville is currently seeking an energetic and creative individual to fill the role of Graphic Design/Marketing Assistant for our professional Theatre company. The Graphic Design/Marketing Assistant will work with our Marketing team to create promotional materials and graphics for social media, providing our audiences and community with opportunities to engage with us and local artists through visual storytelling.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Creation of graphics and visual elements for use on social media and print publications as needed to promote upcoming productions/events/initiatives
  • Planning/scheduling social media posts
  • Ensure branding is consistent and all visual marketing supports uphold an esthetically pleasing and professional appearance
  • Working with Graphic Designer and Marketing/PR Manager to ensure artistic vision for each project (as determined by the Artistic Director) is captured in promotional media
  • Brainstorm and implement a visually compelling and cohesive ‘story’ for each production/event/project

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • High degree of motivation to excel
  • An outgoing personality, reliability and resourcefulness
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and work productively with artists, staff, and community members
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to independently meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain established branding while bringing a fresh and inspired style to visual graphics
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Figma/Adobe Suite (or alternative software equivalent)
  • An openness to feedback and alternative suggestions (is receptive and amiable to shared creative visioning)

Additional info:

  • This contract position is 35 hours/week, for eight (8) weeks (over July and August)
  • Position can be performed remotely
  • Employment Start Date: July 5, 2021
