Fall 2018/Spring 2019 Programming
The Junior Stage (Grades 2-4)
The Junior Stage participants broaden their social and developmental skills through a focus on team work, while building selfconfidence through performance and exploring their imaginations. They will learn how to creatively problem solve with their peers, and how to confidently contribute their own ideas through the introduction of storytelling, improvisation, role-playing, scripted work, pantomime, voice and movement.
The Intermediate Stage (Grades 5-8)
The Intermediate Stage participants will dive further into the fundamentals of theatre, learning how to create honest and genuine characters through improvisation, memorization, and personal experience, all the while honing the unique talents of individual participants to become confident and courageous actors. This program focuses on the development of trust and collaboration within the group, and the fuelling of spontaneity, and creativity. (No prerequisite required).

*** *For A Midsummer Night's Dream, Young Company members will participate in a tuition based program as they have in previous years. The same focus and dedication will be given to training these young actors in a professional setting to become more skilled and versatile performers. This year the Drama Young Company will be joining forces with our professional stage and will perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream alongside both professional and community based actors, in the grandest production Theatre Orangeville has ever embarked on. The sheer scale will far exceed any other show our youth have ever had the chance to work on, and this collaborative project will be the culmination of our 25th Season. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
