Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers

The Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers (T.O.Y.S.) continue to be an integral part of Theatre Orangeville’s mandate to offer quality programs for young people in our community, and this year they’re back with new opportunities!

New this term, the T.O.Y.S. program will split into 2 choirs, a Junior for grades 2 to 5 and Senior for grades 6 through 10. These grade ranges will provide a more catered education and experience for all singers. Providing an opportunity to be challenged to grow their skills at an appropriate level while making lasting friendships with other students their age. We are excited to reintroduce this formate and nurture growth in young singers for years to come.

All T.O.Y.S. members whether new to singing or experienced, will develop a general appreciation of vocal skills and receive specific training in choral singing. Emphasis on teamwork and ensemble performance will build up self-confidence in each member. Under the direction of Ms. DuBois, the T.O.Y.S. Junior and Senior Choirs will develop their own T.O.Y.S. Spring show.  This years spring show will feature music from all our your favourite movies! Choir members will sing and dance their way through years of extraordinary music that we all love to sing a long to from our favourite films.

The spring show is their own fully supported production collaborating with our talented professional production team the choir will learn the importance of how theatrical design can help tell stories and create dynamic performances. Decked out with props, costumes, staging, lighting and choreography this spring show will choir members to have a full theatrical experience!

Rehearsals:

February 4th to May 13th

Junior Choir- Tuesdays 5:30 to 6:30 & Thursdays starting April 24th

Senior Choir- Tuesdays 6:30 to 7:30 & Thursdays starting April 24th
