About the venue

The Orangeville Town Hall Opera House is managed by Theatre Orangeville on behalf of the Town of Orangeville.

Originally built in 1875, the Opera House on the second floor of the Orangeville Town Hall was fully restored in 1993—and a dream was born. Under the leadership of founding Artistic Director Jim Betts, Theatre Orangeville opened its first season in 1994.

After nearly 20 years of professional productions, it was further renovated in 2013, focusing on increasing accessibility and updating the infrastructure.

The Opera House features:

Barrier-free Seating

The Opera House has 40 seats throughout the theatre that are either removable or offer a swing-out aisle end to allow for easier transfer into a seat.

Wheelchair Accessibility

Accessible parking is available behind the Opera House. Both the Broadway and Second Street entrances are fully accessible.

Not Wheelchair Accessible

There are accessible washrooms available on the main and upper levels of the building.

The Opera House is equipped with an assistive hearing system. All patrons may access this for free.

Parking

Public parking is available for free on Broadway. Additionally, there is a public parking lot available for free across the street, beside Barley Vine Rail Co.
