A literary passport to the hottest new titles in Canadian literature. Presented by Booklore & Theatre Orangeville.
Orangeville is home to one of Canadaâs most vibrant independent book stores, BookLore, under the leadership of the inimitable Nancy Frater (2013 Canadian Bookseller of the Year). Nancy has been a supporter of Theatre Orangeville since day one.
Today that support goes directly to Theatre Orangevilleâs New Play Development (NPD) Fund. This is a fund that is reserved exclusively for commissioning new plays from Canadian playwrights and funding their artistic development through actor workshops.
Presented in partnership between Theatre Orangeville and BookLore, Authors on Stage is a literary passport to the hottest new titles in Canadian literature. Two separate events are held annually at the Opera House and will feature engaging interviews, book readings, audience Q&A, and book signings with outstanding Canadian authors.
Previous authors include Lawrence Hill, Tanya Talaga, Pierre Burton, Margaret Atwood, and more.
