‍

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT

Eliminating accessibility barriers to guarantee equal access for all and ensuring the safety of patrons, artists and staff is priority one.

Our organization, with a Capital grant awarded by Ontario Trillium Foundation, will address a community need by upgrading accessibility capabilities and compliance to health and safety standards, increasing programming access and ensuring a safe stage environment.

Upgrading our accessibility infrastructure and stage environment will result in us being better able to serve the needs of patrons, artists and skilled trades people who may require accessibility support.

After many years of use, the stage floor has developed many areas of unevenness, creating tripping hazards for artists and crew members and putting them at risk of injury. Additionally the years of wear and tear on the surface, as well as multiple layers of paint have left the surface in rough condition, both aesthetically and structurally.

Resurfacing the stage floor will eliminate the identified issues and enable artists to perform safely and ensure a safe and hazard free environment for staff and users.
