AĀ Message From The Board of Directors:

The Board of Directors of Theatre Orangeville extends its congratulations to Mayor Lisa Post and all members of Orangeville's newly elected Town Council. We look forward to continuing our longstanding partnership with the Town of Orangeville and working together in support of our community.

In recent months, Theatre Orangeville has been the subject of public discussion concerning our financial circumstances, our relationship with the Town, and our role in the management of the historic Orangeville Opera House.

We recognize that questions have been raised, and we understand the importance of addressing these matters with clarity, responsibility and respect for the community we serve.

Over the past year, Theatre Orangeville has faced significant financial challenges that have required difficult decisions and meaningful organizational change. Working alongside our Artistic Director, Jennifer Stewart, the Board of Directors has undertaken a thorough review of operations, implemented cost-saving measures, restructured responsibilities and taken steps toward building a more sustainable financial foundation.

We remain grateful to the Town of Orangeville for approving a $300,000 repayable loan to support the organization's financial recovery. This assistance is a loan, not a grant, and Theatre Orangeville remains committed to fulfilling its repayment obligations in accordance with the agreed terms.

Our partnership with the Town extends well beyond financial support. Theatre Orangeville is proud of its longstanding role in managing the Orangeville Opera House, including supporting community rentals, providing front-of-house, box office and technical services, and helping ensure this historic facility remains an accessible and welcoming space for our community.

We recognize that the confidence of our patrons, supporters and community is earned through action. As we continue to strengthen our operations and financial foundation, our Board of Directors remains committed to responsible oversight, sound financial management and fulfilling our obligations to the Town of Orangeville.

We understand the importance of accountability and will continue to communicate meaningful developments as our organization moves forward.

For more than 30 years, Theatre Orangeville has been MORE THAN A SHOW. It has been a place where stories are shared, creativity is nurtured and community connections are made. Through professional Canadian theatre, arts education, youth programming and community partnerships, our work continues to reach far beyond the stage.

We are proud of that impact. We also recognize that protecting it requires responsible decisions today and a clear commitment to the future.

To our patrons, subscribers, donors, volunteers, community partners and the Town of Orangeville, thank you for your continued support, your questions and your belief in Theatre Orangeville.

We look forward to this next chapter together.

Laura Austin
Chair, Board of Directors
