BALLYCROY

The Southern Ontario community of Ballycroy enjoyed explosive success from 1821 – 75, when a suspicious fire destroyed much of the town, taking the lives of three Irish milliners before fading into relative obscurity. Over the years that followed, Ballycroy’s sad fate has been the subject of rumour and insinuation.

Fact or fable, truth or lies – there is no denying that three women were lost to flames that lit the night sky above Ballycroy on April 29, 1875. Marek Norman has created a work that walks the line between myth and reality. His musical play contains a wide variety of themes, such as Celtic folklore, pioneering courage, fear, faith, destiny ... and ghosts.

BALLYCROY will be on stage from April 1st - 18th, 2027 and will automatically be added to any five show subscription package and can be included in your three show subscription selections.

What is Theatre for Young Audiences?

We believe theatre is a powerful tool. It dramatizes and contextualizes the world. It invites us to walk in other’s shoes; see the world through their eyes.

All of our Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) shows are grounded in the Ontario curriculum; they teach, through theatre.

Bonus: we hire educators to create study packages, so your classroom can get the most out of the experience.
